Director of Medical Affairs

Job Summary
Director of Medical Affairs will provide medical and scientific guidance to the business, be responsible for the clinical strategy and provide input into the commercial and business strategy

• Line management of a medical science liaison (MSL) team, driving and leading colleagues as a senior medic on the Global team
• Lead the MSL team on strategic, operational and developmental projects 
• Provide medical input to the commercial success of the business, including working closely with the Brand team and contributing to business plans 
• Support business strategies by implementation of local studies, supporting applications for Investigator Initiated Research (IIR), management of local advisory boards, interaction with local clinic investigators and other key activities
• Medical input to the division so that marketing sales, pharmacovigilance, medical information, and regulatory affairs teams are consistent with medical SOP’s and in line with commercial objectives of the business 
• Build and develop enduring peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive, cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to generate customer insights. 
• Lead the Clinical Programs to meet the business, regulatory and ethical requirements of the Aerogen business 
• Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and relevant information to key customers and stakeholders in response to unsolicited request for information
• Supports as Medical Advisor the review of promotional materials of regulatory documents. Advise other internal customers as appropriate. Medical Training of internal employees (e.g. Field force) 
• Preparation of scientific presentations/talks, responsibility for internal publications 
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business to accomplish delivery of medical driven initiatives 

• Medical Degree with significant experience in medical device industry 
• Clinical experience with aerosol therapy, critical care, and/or respiratory care 
• An understanding of the compliance framework for medical interactions in relation to global and local regulation 
• High degree of cross-functional collaboration with good leadership skills 
• Ability to communicate clearly information and concepts which may be complex in nature 
• Good understanding of acute care environment at Global (US, EMEA, AP) regional and country level 
• Good knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and how it impacts the product portfolio
• Good business acumen 
• A knowledge of health economics and its impact on medical decision making 
• Computer skills; using current software 
• Very good knowledge of English with good presentational skills 
• Talent for communications and organisation
